Columbia – Ellicott City (Howard County)

Columbia and Ellicott City are located within Howard County.  Columbia is a planned community of self-contained villages.  The idea of villages provides Columbia with a small-town feel. Each village is comprised of several neighborhoods as well as shopping, recreation facilities, community centers, and walking/biking paths.  Most of the neighborhoods in Columbia offer single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums and apartments.

Ellicott City, also located in Howard County, has been ranked 4 times among the top “20 Places to Live in the United States” by Money and CNN Money. The town features a historic feeling with ample restaurants, boutique shops, coffee shops and many historical sites.

Even though average prices are down, momentum is up.  Days on Market is down, month over month volume is up.  All good signs for Howard County.  With BRAC employees in nearby Anne Arundel County and award winning Howard County schools, Howard County is going to have a strong 2011!
